| On the D952 between Orleans and Gien, the village of Les Bordes is a quiet place with a little road noise if parked nearest the entrance to the Aire. Travelling South the aire is located at the end of the village on the right beside a small lake. The barrier is normally closed but has never been locked during our many visits. A Sign on the barrier states that when locked call the Marie on the number shown. Good location, very neat and tidy. Non standard service point with free water etc. The water is turned off during winter and so making it impossible to wash out the WC cassette as well. A good night halt for travellers heading south and just over 300 miles from Calais. There is a little shade from surrounding trees and during our visits the grass has always been kept short. MH’s over 30 ft may find it tight in summer only because of the small number of places. Would be ok in winter but perhaps difficult when busy. Area is not lit at night.

Village has boulangerie and a couple of restaurants but we have found them too far to walk during an overnight stop. The walk around the lake is pleasant. There is a Supermarket a few miles further south that serves cheap fuel and makes a good baguette for breakbast.
