Over the years we have needed to find places where we could buy parts, check up on campsites or simply browse through accessories – even drool at new camper vans so it makes sense to place all these web sites in a common place. We will add to these as we go along.
Links to Web Sites that may be useful to folks with Camper Vans:
Motor Home General
These are places where you can get information on a whole range of things with advice on trip planning, regulations in European countries, LPG locations etc. There are usually forums where you can discuss virtually anything you like
Motorhomefacts The largest motorhome site in Europe and a good source of information
Motorhomefun Another good source of information and a good cross reference
Places to Stay
These are web sites that have been compiled by members giving directions to locations, prices, facilities and many include photographs etc. and where appropriate warnings where there are low bridges/weight or length restrictions. Position information is usually in the form of GPS Latitude and Longitude
Camping Car Infos This is a French language site but users of Google can get the pages translated. Includes sites from all over Europe and not just France
Wild Camping A small up and coming site that specialises in wild camping
i Camping Car Another French site with more Aires and wild camping places
Camper Contact A Dutch site with English translations offering Aires/Stellplatz and Sostas to stay throughout Europe
Needing Parts
Here is a list of suppliers that I have used over the years and have thought them reasonable and fair.
Out Door Bits Part of the Motorhome Facts site and while the range is limited they are competitive.
Air and Sun Suppliers of solar panels and regulators etc.
Van Bitz – Similar to Out door bits and specialising in Alarms and other electrical parts – their battery master for charging engine batteries when stationary is very good
JM Goods – Good suppliers for electrical bits, particularly all types of LED replacement bulbs at keen prices. No quibble warranty.
Elecsol – Suppliers of Carbon Fibre Batteries that have a 5 yr warranty, 20% less weight (good for payload) and 1000 cycle deep charge rate – better than most other batteries – make sure you complete your warranty card
